Serving Young Women

Mercy Ministries, Surrey, British Columbia

About:
Mercy Ministries exists to provide opportunities for young women to experience God’s unconditional love, forgiveness and life-transforming power.

Company Overview:
Mercy Ministries Canada is a free-of-charge, non-profit residential home for young women that face life-controlling issues. These young women, ages 19-28, come from diverse socio-economic circumstances. They are seeking freedom from issues such as drug and alcohol addiction, depression, eating disorders,
unplanned pregnancy, physical and sexual abuse and self-harm.

We are committed to providing the young women we serve with excellent program services that allow them to recognize their self-worth and prepare them to reach their full potential. Our Christ-centred approach to healing allows young women to permanently stop destructive cycles and prepares them to take hope out into their communities.

Services are customized to each young woman, dependent on their needs. We provide biblically based professional counselling, educational opportunities, life-skills training (such as budgeting, nutrition etc.) and access to medical care. Completion of the program typically takes six months.

Our first Canadian home is located in beautiful Surrey, British Columbia (part of the Vancouver area). In 2008, we purchased 4.3 acres, debt-free, and embarked on an extensive home renovation. We opened our doors to the first graduating class of Mercy in 2010 and lives are being changed every day!

MERCY MINISTRIES. LIVES TRANSFORMED. HOPE RESTORED.

Products:
IT’S UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

We serve young women that struggle with life-controlling issues such as eating disorders, self harm, abuse and neglect, addictions, depression and unplanned pregnancy.

We are committed to helping them reach their full potential by offering residential care, counselling, life-skills training, educational preparation, pregnancy services and transitional care.

Adoption:
For young women who are pregnant and choose to place their baby in a loving Christian home, Mercy Ministries of America provides an in-house licensed adoption agency. The birthmothers who choose adoption are taken through post-placement counseling in our post-placement program for an additional six weeks. Parenting classes are also made available for the young women who decide to parent their child. These classes give the mothers practical training and guidance in numerous areas of child development.

We seek transformation.

You should also know that we have three core principles:
• TAKE YOUNG WOMEN IN FREE OF CHARGE
• TITHE 10% TO OTHER MINISTRIES
• NO PROVINCIAL OR FEDERAL FUNDING OR ANY MONEY THAT COULD COMPROMISE OUR FREEDOM TO SHARE CHRIST
